You know, I have to come to realize something. That the Friday night just isn't what it used to be anymore. It used to be non-stop partying until Saturday morning. Not sleeping. Not remembering who you did what with. Not worrying about life. Forgetting about bullshit.
Now the Friday is just a constant reminder of bullshit for me.
It just reminds of how exactly nothing really matters. For the 4th week in a row I have sat outside of a Starbucks after my band has practiced and smoked cigarettes until midnight then I go home.
But by doing this I have also come to realize.
We all bitch about how much our life sucsk when we don't go out on friday night.
However,
there are children,
young children,
hungry,
lonely,
children,
who have never even dreamed of a friday night.
The thought has never even crossed their mind. They live their lives in poverty with their only priority to survive. To keep their family alive. These are children. Just children. And then us, the general American public sit around and mope and bitch because we didn't go out on a friday night.
And here's the really pathetic part.
I know these truths.
I understand them.
Yet I still sit around and smoke and mope because I didn't do anything on a Friday night.
Such is life.
But why?
and oh yeah, speaking of the band,
go ahead and check it out: The Tallest Mountains Are Islands
